Thank you for visiting techguidelab.com! My name is Ronan but my nickname is “Mark solutions” and I created this blog where I have been writing guides and reviews on tech and home automation devices for a few years now.
I don’t want to make this page a CV but here is some info since you came here for that.
I did technical studies and I graduated in electrical engineering in 2007. (quite some time already) I played a lot of video games in my youth but I “lost” this hobby after my marriage.
I am passionate about new technologies and I really like finding solutions to technical problems and providing answers to questions in the field of smart homes, home automation and internet connected devices (troubleshooting, solutions to protect your privacy)…
I worked at Fnac as a multimedia & IT salesperson and I had the opportunity to help customers on site and at home.
When I was a teenager, those around me consulted me for technical and computer problems. This is still the case for some of them, including my mother, who quickly panics over not much.
Since I regularly ask myself questions, I put online the solutions that I have found and that work.
3 reasons for this:
- First, it allows me to find myself the solution to a problem that I have already had in the past but for which I have forgotten the solution
- Second, it allows other people to benefit from the solutions to these same problems.
- Third, it’s a hobby that I enjoy.
techguidelab.com is the culmination of 25 years of experience. I love recent high-tech devices (for individuals), and although I do not consider myself an expert, I have developed expertise through experience and self-learning. For example, I repaired my television instead of throwing it away. I also “saved” my drill whose battery no longer worked (I opened it and repaired it), I saved the washing machine twice in 14 years (changing the solenoid valve and drum seals). It is always a source of pride to be able to save what could still last for years.
My knowledge improves as I learn about other emerging products and technologies.
Edit January 2023: I resumed studies in web development and cybersecurity because this field interests me more and more.
While techguidelab.com always offers the same type of content (explanations, solutions to problems, buying guides, comparisons, etc.) I sometimes vary the subjects and tackle other topics that interest me.
Purpose of techguidelab.com
My goal at techguidelab.com is to help people having problems find the right information they need to install connected devices for the home or fix television problems, and security and cybersecurity issues.
Want to learn how to use a smart plug, a smart bulb, turn on your TV with Alexa or unlock the front door for the delivery man? With techguidelab.com you will enjoy yourself because this is the type of subject I deal with to provide solutions.
I don’t use social networks anymore, I still have Facebook but it’s become just advertising, I don’t even see my friends on it anymore so I hardly watch anymore. I don’t have Instagram or TikTok, in short I have the feeling that social networks don’t bring as much as 10 years ago. It’s kind of become the garbage can of the internet with people who spend their time judging strangers, hence the creation of this website.
My Linkedin just in case.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find what you are looking for!
